Mike Braden

While interning with my college strength & conditioning program I told myself I would never do CrossFit. “They don’t even know how to do pull-ups right” was a constant thought. It wasn’t until I graduated college that my sister talked me into doing my first CrossFit workout. That workout just happened to be Murph, and I got crushed. Never wanting to feel that way again I went full steam ahead into CrossFit and haven’t looked back

I received my Bachelors in Exercise Science at The University of Dubuque while playing tennis. Being passionate about my field of study and wanted to put it to work I started working personal training at a fitness center but would go and do CrossFit workouts during my lunch break. After switching careers I was hooked on CrossFit and decided to get my Level 1. I was able to start coaching right away and fell in love with the sport even more. Even if I have a really bad workout, as long as I can encourage someone else it’s a good day. Helping people reach goals they never thought possible gives me chills every time.

My goal as a coach is to help people get past the mental barriers of what they think they can or cannot do. I promise you will surprise yourself with what you’re capable of. CrossFit has become more than a workout for me. CrossFit is where I have found most of my friends, community and peace of mind.
